The barrier to build software is basically zero now.

I feel like every day I have some emotional response to how wild the tech industry is moving.

Every day I'm seeing something ridiculous come out that changes how I see the world.

What are we going to do with all this newfound power?

There’s never been a better time in history to be a builder.

I’ve been tinkering a lot after work with a modern AI stack leveraging Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, Lovable, Perplexity, Cursor, etc . . and the speed at which we can go from "idea" to "deployed" is insane.

For a long time, the bottleneck was technical.

You needed a dev team, a designer, and months of runway to work on an idea and bring it to life.

Now, if you can articulate a problem clearly enough, you can build a solution in a few hours.

So my question to you is:

What is actually worth building?

I decided to start with a problem that’s been bothering me for over a decade . .

The Hallway vs. The Stage

With all the tools available to me today, I keep thinking about which problems are worth solving . .

And this one feels close to home.

When you look at why we actually go to conferences . .

I feel like it comes down to two main reasons:

  1. To connect with people

  2. To learn a new perspective

I personally wouldn't be where I am today without everything I've learned and the people I've connected with at conferences over the last 13+ years.

Give me a mic and a room full of builders and I'm in my element

But when I think about the greatest pain points I've had during that time . .

It's the times that I've found myself overwhelmed trying to capture all of the important info being said . .

OR

I'm talking outside the main stage connecting with someone in the hallway (where honestly a lot of the valuable conversations happen).

It's in these moments that I wish I could be at multiple places at the same time . .

Sometimes I wish I was in the room and in the hallway at the exact same time (that’s me on screen)

I think about the moments when a session I was looking forward to sounds interesting, but the person I want to talk to is outside and is about to leave.

I almost always choose the in-person experience to connect with people and then figure out how to catch up on what I missed later.

That’s exactly the gap I’m aiming to close with DÍMELO.

Imagine if you could just turn to a companion and say . .

" Tell me what I missed "

The Evolution of DÍMELO

If you’ve been subscribed for a while, you know DÍMELO as just this newsletter.

But as I kept thinking about the mission here . . writing for the underrepresented, the builders, and the dreamers . .

I realized the unique opportunity I have right now to start coding, building, and documenting the future I want to see.

So, DÍMELO is evolving into a platform.

The newsletter isn't going anywhere . .

It’s becoming the place where I document this entire build in public, and as a subscriber, you have a front-row seat 🙏🏼

My hope is that sharing the wins, the roadblocks, and everything I’m learning along the way inspires you to visualize what’s possible so you can start building too . .

But to build the right solution, I need to make sure I'm solving the right problems . .

So, what’s the ONE thing that drives you crazy about the conference experience?

Hit reply or comment and let me know!

Ready for the journey?!

LET’S. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Join the Journey

If it’s your first time here, welcome to my newsletter, DÍMELO.

I write for the underrepresented, the builders, and the dreamers who see the opportunities in front of them and are ready to claim them.

I’ll keep showing up with the signals, stories, and lessons that matter . . . straight up!

Here’s to building in public!

I’m grateful we’re on this journey together!
